Safe use of CO₂ cylinders
Read these instructions before using your cylinder. CO₂ is a pressurized gas that requires responsible handling to ensure your safety and the safety of your home.
Storage
- Store the cylinders upright, in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place.
- Keep cylinders away from heat sources, direct sunlight, and flames.
- Do not store at temperatures above 50°C.
- Always store with the safety valve intact and the protective cap in place.
- Do not store cylinders in unventilated basements or small, enclosed spaces.
Handling
- Always handle cylinders with care, avoiding bumps and drops.
- Do not drag the cylinders along the floor; use the included transport kit.
- Always close the valve after each use.
- Do not attempt to modify, repair, or open the valve yourself.
- Visually inspect the cylinder before each use for any damage.
It is forbidden
- Never pierce, cut or deform the cylinder under any circumstances.
- Never throw the cylinder into the fire or incinerate it, even if it is empty.
- Never refill the cylinder yourself; only use the official Congas service.
- Never use the cylinder if it has visible rust, dents, or leaks.
- Never use non-approved adapters or connect it to incompatible equipment.
Children and pets
- Keep cylinders out of reach of children and pets at all times.
- Explain to the children that the cylinders are not toys.
- Do not allow children to handle the valve or the gasifier without adult supervision.
- In case of an incident, call emergency services immediately.
Usage and compatibility
- Use only with compatible standard threaded gasifier machines.
- Follow the instructions for your gasifier machine to connect the cylinder.
- Do not exceed the pressure recommended by the machine manufacturer.
- Do not carbonate drinks other than water (juices, milk, alcohol, etc.).
- Disconnect the cylinder from the machine when you are not using it.
Signs of damage
- Stop using immediately if the cylinder shows dents, cracks, or corrosion.
- Listen for gas leaks (hissing) around the valve.
- Check that the safety valve is in good condition and the cap is in place.
- Contact Congas before returning a damaged cylinder; do not send it without prior notice.
Transport
- Always transport the cylinders in a vertical position and secured so that they do not roll.
- Do not leave the cylinders inside the vehicle in the sun for extended periods of time.
- Ventilate the vehicle if you suspect a CO₂ leak during transport.
- Use the return box provided by Congas to send the empty cylinders.
