Are Congas cylinders compatible with my SodaStream?
It's one of the questions we get asked most often: "I have a SodaStream, can I use Congas cylinders?" The short answer is: it depends on the type of connection your machine uses. Here's how to find out in under a minute.
SodaStream has two different connection systems
Not all SodaStream carbonators use the same type of cylinder. There are two completely different systems, and cylinders from one do not work in the other. The easiest way to identify them is by the color of the cylinder:
- Blue cylinder → standard screw-in system
- Pink cylinder → Quick Connect system
If you're unsure looking at the cylinder, you can also check the head: the blue cylinder has visible threads at the top; the pink one has a smoother finish that clicks into place.
Which ones are Congas cylinders compatible with?
Congas cylinders are compatible with the standard screw-in system, the blue SodaStream cylinder.
They are not compatible with the Quick Connect system, the pink SodaStream cylinder.

How do I know what system my SodaStream has?
Look at the cylinder you have at home:
- Blue cylinder → standard screw-in → compatible with Congas ✅
- Pink cylinder → Quick Connect → not compatible with Congas ❌
You can also check the cylinder label: if it says "CQC" or "Quick Connect", it is not compatible. If you don't have the cylinder at hand or are unsure, contact our team and we'll confirm it for you right away.
Why are you not compatible with Quick Connect?
SodaStream's Quick Connect system is a patented and exclusive technology. Quick Connect cylinders only fit machines designed for that system, and there is no adapter that allows them to be used in standard screw-in carbonators or vice versa.
Congas cylinders follow the industrial food-grade screw-in standard, compatible with the vast majority of carbonators on the market, not only with SodaStream's standard screw-in models, but also with other brands using the same system.

Can I use my SodaStream cylinders with Congas' Burbujito?
If your cylinders are standard screw-in (blue), yes. If they are Quick Connect (pink), no.
Do Congas cylinders fit other brands besides SodaStream?
Yes. Congas cylinders are compatible with any carbonator or soda maker that uses the standard screw-in system, regardless of the brand.
Can I start using Congas without buying new cylinders?
Yes, if your current cylinders are standard screw-in. For your first order, we send you full Congas cylinders, but we do not collect cylinders from other distributors for safety reasons.
